Mixing Black & Blue…

Blue and black were not two colors that I thought paired well together. I thought mixing them was a faux paux, kind of like mixing black and brown. However, they actually look great together, especially when it comes in the form of one of my favorite prints. Camo of course! I had been on a hunt for the perfect black saddle bag for the last few months. The ones I found were either too small or too big. This one from J. Crew is the perfect size. The combination of it being both blue and black was unique to me. Also, the calf hair also sealed the deal. I love calf hair. It makes an interesting accessory. It comfortably fits my make up bag, my wallet, keys and iPhone 6. I highly recommend it.

The Perfect Flare Jeans…

Flare Jeans: American Eagle   | Blouse: Last Call | Shoes: Christian Louboutin | Clutch: Grateful Bags; Similar Bracelets: Here, Here, Here | Watch: Coach; Similar | Earrings: Purple Peridot; Similar | Sunglasses: Tory Burch; Similar | Lipstick: Unicorn Blood

I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of flare jeans for my petite frame. The challenge has been that they are always so long even with heels. Getting them hemmed is not an option with flare jeans if you want to wear them with heels. It changes the shape. Getting them in petite sizing is not an option either if you want to wear them with heels. They become looking too short. So after trying on numerous pairs, I decided to give American Eagle a chance. I was reluctant at first. I had not bought jeans from there since I was in high school. Luckily, I found the most perfectly distressed, flare jeans. I love these flares! They hug curves in all of the right places and make me feel like I have legs for days.

As a woman, I naturally love shopping. Shoes and bags are usually my go to splurges. I also love being a savvy shopper by saving money. Who doesn’t right? I love a good dupe for a designer bag, especially one that I know I won’t carry often. I like to rotate my bags to give them all love. Above are a few splurge vs. save ideas.

Packing can be a hassle.  I always over pack, especially shoes. Then I end up only wearing half of what I packed and one pair of shoes. I have learned that the key to not over packing is to stay organized. Picking a similar color palette is key. That way everything can be mixed and matched together. For the first time in a long time, I actually did this for my trip to New York. Above are all of my looks that will be making their way in my suitcase.

Football is my favorite thing about Fall. I am glad that I finally found a shirt to express a few of my favorite things that pair perfectly with football. The only thing this shirt is missing is the word shoes. What can I say, shoes it will always be a favorite of mine. Anyhoo, back to this shirt. It is incredibly soft and has this perfectly lived-in feel.

Oxfords were one type of shoe that I did not have and wanted to try out especially for Fall. Besides, I am always looking to add to my shoe collection. Sorry David. Boots and booties are usually my footwear of choice for Fall. Oxfords are perfect for Fall because your feet stay covered up. Sometimes riding boots and over the knee boots become too hot to wear, if you live in a state with variable weather where it is freezing in the morning but hot by lunchtime. Oxfords solve that problem perfectly. They are also a chic alternative to sneakers. Sneakers give off a more casual vibe, whereas oxfords make an outfit appear more put together. I also love the preppy vibe they give off. If you are worried about looking too boyish in them, try them in a fun color other than black or brown like pink. Above are a few pairs that are not only cute, but very budget friendly.  I cannot wait to wear them with boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, and even with knee-high socks to channel my inner Dionne from the movie Clueless. How will you wear your oxfords?

Studs on Studs…..

Metal studs on clothing are an accessory that can add a slight punk factor. They seem to be very popular this year thanks to Valentino’s shoes and purses. Unfortunately for me, the coveted $900+ Rock Stud Pumps are not in my budget. These studs fit my budget. I also like the neutral color and peep toe feature. Being able to show off my pedicure is also a bonus. However, I really love the way they look cuffed with boyfriend jeans. I really am obsessed with boyfriend jeans. Here are a few of my favorites.

My Obsession With Boyfriend Jeans…

My obsession with boyfriend jeans is epic! Boyfriend jeans are slowly taking over my closet. Actually, they have become a staple. I love this style of jeans. They look great dressed up with heels or dressed down with heels. I am only 5′ 3″ and curvy, so I was hesitant to try to this style. I did not want the jeans to overwhelm my petite frame. I also did not want to look like I was wearing David’s jeans. However, do not let the name fool you. Boyfriend jeans are extremely flattering on all body types. They have a relaxed fit through the hip and thighs and are usually worn cuffed at the ankle. For me since I am curvy, I find them to be fitted at my hips and thighs and relaxed through the leg. Because they are fitted on my booty, David doesn’t mind me wearing them at all. If you prefer a more fitted, but relaxed look to your boyfriend jeans, size down. You can also opt for girlfriend jeans. Here are a few of my favorite boyfriend jeans.

Leopard Tunic + Pink…

You can never go wrong with leopard anything. Especially when it is a tunic. I also own this same tunic in pink and white. When I really like something, I buy it in multiple colors. When I have no idea what to wear, I grab a tunic and skinny jeans. A tunic also looks great paired with leggings. It is my recipe for an easy, comfortable outfit. Once it finally starts to cool down in Tampa (most likely never), this will be my go to outfit. I will swap out the cute heels for booties or oxfords and layer with a vest.
