The Perfect Flare Jeans…

I have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of flare jeans for my petite frame. The challenge has been that they are always so long even with heels. Getting them hemmed is not an option with flare jeans if you want to wear them with heels. It changes the shape. Getting them in petite sizing is not an option either if you want to wear them with heels. They become looking too short. So after trying on numerous pairs, I decided to give American Eagle a chance. I was reluctant at first. I had not bought jeans from there since I was in high school. Luckily, I found the most perfectly distressed, flare jeans. I love these flares! They hug curves in all of the right places and make me feel like I have legs for days.

Pink, Pink and More Pink…

Pink is by far my favorite color. It was even one of my wedding colors. I wear it everyday. It may not be in the form of lipstick, lip gloss, or as my under garments if it is not visibly seen as part of my outfit. I just love pink, which is why I wanted to build a pink outfit around this scarf.  Initially, I  wanted to do a monochromatic look with pink. However, once I was dressed in my pink jeans and pink everything else, I looked like I belonged in the game Candy Land. That was not the look I was going for. I switched to good old-fashioned blue denim with a little distress to toughen up all of this pink. The scarf is no longer available in pink on Nasty Gal, but it is available in heather grey here.

DIY Blanket Scarf

Shirt: Old Navy | Jeans: J.Crew | Belt: J. Crew | Booties: Madewell | Clutch Grateful Handbags | Necklace: Kluster | Bracelets: Kluster | Watch: Michael Kors; Similar | Ring: Love Always Couture | Sunglasses: Coach: Similar | Blanket Scarf: DIY; Similar | Earrings: Gift; Similar | Lipstick: So Chaud | Lip gloss: Cheerful

Blanket scarves are all the rage this season and for good reason. They are super versatile and just like their name can be used for a blanket. This particular blanket scarf has kept me warm on the couch cozied up with David and our cat, Lilly.  She definitely enjoyed using it as a blanket. I have amassed quite a collection of blanket scarves. However, I particularly wanted an orange and blue one. I guess it is the Florida Gator in me. I could not find one until I was inspired by a post by the lovely Zevyjoy about making my own blanket scarf. Voila! Here is the result of my very own DIY blanket scarf. The best part about making this blanket scarf is that it required no sewing, which is awesome for me and anyone else who does not know how to sew very well. All it took was a little bit of time and patience, and it cost me a fraction of the price of the some of the blanket scarves being sold in stores. So, before you buy that blanket scarf that you have been eyeing, why not try to make your own. Good Luck!

Camo along with leopard is one of my favorite prints. You might even say that I am crazy for camo, but I especially love these Loft pants because they come in petite sizing.  Camo is surprisingly very versatile. It can be styled dressed up (Look 1) or dressed down (Look 2). For a dressed up look, I paired my camo pants with eye-catching jewels, these amazing Sam Edelman shoes that always start a conversation no matter where I wear them, and this leopard clutch that I am obsessed with. It goes with everything. It made for a great date night outfit with David. For a more laid back look, perfect for a long day of running errands, I paired my camo pants with flats and a super comfy Gap V-Neck Shirt for a little pattern mixing. More camo posts coming soon.
